On August 14, 1947, as a result of 3rd June plan, a new state in the world came into existence known as Pakistan. This state was divided into two wings-the East Pakistan and the West Pakistan. From the creation of Pakistan, the Eastern wing was constantly at stake and it faced many problems such as issue of capital, difference of language, Ayub Khan’s biasness, his policies regarding East Pakistan, six points presented by Sheikh Mujeeb-ur-Rehman and the influence of Indian government in the East Pakistan. These circumstances created a lot of tensions between the East and the West Pakistan. The Eastern wing launched many campaigns, rallies and protests against the Western wing’s government. All the leaders of the East Pakistan who spoke for their rights were banned by the government officials. They cannot work for the development of their language. An effort was made to wipeout the Bengali language and ultimately to wipeout the Bengali nation. No importance was given to them in constitution; they were not given their basic human rights. No work was done to flourish their industry. The East Pakistan contributed from fifty to sixty percent of the total exports of Pakistan, but according to the Reports of the Advisory Panel for the Five Year Plan (1970-75, Vol1), a total of 113,340 million rupees were spent on West Pakistan, while only 45,930 million rupees were spent on the Eastern wing. Their wages were not in accordance with their efforts. According to Report of the Panel of Economists on the Fourth Year Plan (1970-75, pg32), the difference in the per capita income of East and West Pakistan in the year 1949 -50 was 51, it increased to 88 in 1959-60 and it became 206 in 1969-70. It gave world a gesture that Pakistan is made only for the Muslims and the people who speak Urdu language. A mindset of not secure Pakistan for non-Muslims was promoted. The military of Pakistan which was considered to be the most powerful institution in the country suffered a lot. The East Pakistan produced a large amount of jute, and other it contributed round about fifty to sixty percent of our total exports. So, it affected our economy as well. The main cause (“Two Nation Theory”) on which Pakistan was made was greatly affected by the separation of East Pakistan. If Pakistan and Bangladesh were together, then we would have unitedly captured India because on one end of the border there was West Pakistan and on the other end there was East Pakistan. Pakistan and Bangladesh together could become a superpower in the world, because they had almost all the part of the sub-continent (considering India in it as well). If Pakistan and Bangladesh were not separated, then the Muslims can rule the whole subcontinent because they would be in majority. If Pakistan and Bangladesh were not separated, then many wrong political decisions that are being suffered by Pakistan in now a days were not happened and our reputation in the whole world would have been totally changed; we would not have faced dictators like Gen. Zia-ul-Haq, who ruined our country and today we
