Centiro is a privately owned company that was founded in 1998 and is a leading software company in Transport Management. Centiros’ headquarters is in Sweden with offices in India, the United Kingdom, and the United States. The company offers a wide range of cloud based solutions including transport management, e-commerce platforms, return management and visibility to clients worldwide. Centiro believes in empowering its clients. Centiro was ranked in the top three as a “Great Place to Work Institute”. The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Centiro, Niklas Hedin, attributed its high ranking to the company’s employees and how they treat customers. This is the culture of the organization in which Hedin stated, “Culture is purposeful design and not something that you just get, but something you invest in everyday” (Success Stories. (2014). With that in mind, Centiro incorporated the seven habits framework to enhance its already good culture and to enable the company to grow. If you win, then I win. Centiro recognized that developing this habit creates teamwork and not competitiveness among employees. Habit five “Seek first to understand, then to be understood”. This habit reinforces listening with the intent to understand. Another example is in greeting a colleague and asking “how are you” and really listening to the answer. Habit six is to synergize. This is the premise that the whole is better than the part. Everyone can contribute as we have differences that we can bring to the table.
