Alex and his co-workers worked tirelessly to figure out what was going on and how to solve the problem. Alex’s personal life and problems was put on the back burner because of this. At times Alex was ready to give up on his job as a manager, but he persevered and was able to get a million dollar contract with Burnside.
“Burnside dons this big grin and comes striding up to me with his hand extended. Here is the man I especially want to congratulate… We are meeting with Burnside’s people next week on a long term contract for Model 12’s-10,000 units a year (Goldratt, pg. 248- 249)”.
Alex was at that point where he felt like the team took one step forward and five steps back. But Alex and his coworkers were working so hard trying to solve the problem that was occurring in the plant. They made sure they were making the necessary changes and keeping track of what was going on with the machines. If Alex was not willing to work hard and solve the problem then it would show that he had a bad attitude and was not making good decisions to run the company. Alex and his team persevered. They worked hard communicating, and listening to each other and were able to overcome all the problems and get a deal of a lifetime from
