I was a little black boy in a white society. It is hard, I agree with that, and it does require major inspiration to get past all of it, but it should not be the child 's responsibility to learn on their own, it should be the education systems to help them through the difficult process. The school systems tend to focus on giving the information and not caring about whether or not the students are learning or what the student 's cultural background is in the world. Like you coming from an Indian family knowing nothing about American education, I come from “a less desirable part of town” knowing little about a real education. To place an African-American boy next to a white boy and only teach about the history of the whites and expect for the African-American boy to know what they 're talking about is not how education should work. I believe the school systems should open up the history of the world to the students and allow them to learn something rather than what the teacher feels should be taught. Students need to be in an environment where they are able to nurture their naturel and all students should be given the opportunity to pursue success in what they are passionate about. First they need an education that will train them in the basics as they strengthen their noble qualities and find their inspiration.
PROSE: If we wish for students to be inspired, the place to do this is in a formal educational setting. I do agree that students need to be inspired, but education needs to be the way they get there. Today, children are not being inspired by education due to their teachers curriculum. They are no longer presented with challenging texts, something that greatly inspired me while I was in high school. Challenging texts need to be placed back into the curriculum so students can once again be inspired and their fires will be lit.
EMERSON: I agree with Prose that children today are not inspired by education. The education system doesn 't provide students with the teaching that is specific for what they can succeed in.The system needs to be able to nurture the student’s different naturels. I believe students should be able to have teachers and mentors in different fields that they can excel in and that they are passionate about.The classroom setting currently isn’t inspiring students to
