Employee Wellness is an active process of making a conscious effort to ensure the overall well-being of the employees and enable them to be productive in the workplace. YMJ’s Staff Satisfaction Survey (SSS) highlighted that 48%, 70% and 50% of its employees are dissatisfied with their job, agreed on the importance of Staff Wellness and admitted that their stress levels were poorly managed, out of the respective 85%, 90% and 85% who found those areas important to them. Terry Ma, the HR Director, was especially displeased with “the very low ratings of ‘Work Relationship’, ‘Stress Management’ and ‘Job Satisfaction’ and to learn about their major discontentment of working in YMJ. Furthermore, the exhausted and apathetic employees may “have greatly affected their service standards”. Additionally, its medical leaves and healthcare costs will rapidly decline due to the efficacious health benefits attained from implementing the Wellness Programmes.
