The ungrateful servant was tormented. The scriptures also say that the same will happen to those who are not willing to forgive from their heart everyone who had sin against them.
God’s will is for us to extend forgiveness regardless of what has been done to us. We are called to extend compassion and mercy to those who don’t even deserve it. Extending forgiveness is the essence of the Gospel.
Forgiveness must be given from the depths of our hearts for it to truly be forgiveness. Just because one says they forgive does not constitute authentic forgiveness. Jesus is telling us that for us to be free from the destructive nature of un-forgiveness we must be willing to forgive in an authentic heartfelt manner. When we do this it can still

This is why she reached out to a ministry like ours. Convinced that something unusual was taking place in her life she pursued another rout for help. Deliverance.
I began to inquire about her current situations. She conveyed to me her love for the Lord and how in just a short time she would be leaving for the mission field. Before she left she wanted to be free from this encompassing weight that lingered and made her feel emotionally sadden.
I then began to ask her about things from her past. I was looking for those things that would be red flags from her past that could be potential open doors for the demonic to wreak havoc behind the scenes. You see her being a devote believer, she though perhaps she could use some prayer but she never anticipated what was getting ready to happen.
Her past was not what we would call bad as in lots of abuse. Quite the contrary, her childhood seemed to be okay. She had loving parents that tried their best to raise their kids as best they

At this she was a bit taken back thinking that we had already covered that. At this the conversation began to change. Suddenly emotion began to fill her face with pain as she described a few memories about her father being mean to her. Again, not overly abusive but at times he could be a bit

In Judaism, their perspective on this concept is that one who has mistreated another must earnestly seek forgiveness from them, and they are expected to do so a number of times. The victim will be held accountable for the individual’s actions if they do not grant forgiveness, as it is their religious responsibility to do so, and thus, the person who has pursued their pardon will receive this from God instead. This concept of forgiveness is applied throughout the teachings of Judaism. However, if Christians endeavour to achieve forgiveness from God, and have exhibited this to others, the Lord will absolve these individuals from sin. Followers also request that God absolves the acts of unjust from those who committed a sin towards the individual.…

Would it not be great to be able to prevent conflict altogether? Not having to resolve any disputes, or differences, and having complete harmony. It would be amazing; however, conflict is part of life. We may not be able to prevent it all the time, but we can be prepared to resolve it in the best manner possible. Authors, Ken Sande and Kevin Johnson, share their knowledge in their book titled, Resolving everyday conflict, providing a Christian view on conflict resolution (Sande & Johnson, 2011).…

Many people consider forgiveness as a virtue and something desirable. Nevertheless, people define it differently, probably depending on circumstances. As Jeffrie Murphy puts it, forgiveness is the forswearing of resentment- the resolute overcoming of the anger and hatred that are naturally directed toward a person who has done an unjustified and non-excused moral injury. According to this statement, forgiveness is directly related to moral obligation from individuals. It suggests that unjustified moral injury to a person may cause anger and hatred that can only be overcome through forgiveness.…

For my first Beyond the Classroom report, I went to a book reading, the book written by Marina Cantacuzino is titled: The Forgiveness Project: Story for a vengeful age. It was located at the McNally Robinson bookstore on Grant Avenue on September 21st 2015. The book spoke of victims and assaulters of violent crimes like murder of a loved one, being sexually assaulted and losing your humanity to a point where the pain you inflict on others does not phase you and how they came to forgive not only themselves but the ones that they have hurt and the ones who have hurt them. Though the author could not make it to the reading, three ambassadors stepped in for her. They each took a turn and told us their story and how they came about forgiving the…

Interaction My initial response to the concept of forgiveness therapy for abuse survivors was that it seemed counter-intuitive, as it can be perceived to excuse the abusive behavior and invalidate the suffering of the victim. However, this impression fails to acknowledge the therapeutic definition of forgiveness as used in therapy, a release of resentment (Reed & Enright, 2006). Upon review of this definition of forgiveness therapy, I concluded that it was in line with other therapeutic ideals that encourage release of negative thought patterns and encourage the construction of positive thought patterns and behaviors.…
