Once, while I was waiting for Suzanne, I asked Gena about Baby University, she was accommodating with her time, and I was exhilarated to hear about this program of benevolence. She explained how they go door-to door to enroll parents in the 10-week program at the most impoverished city blocks in Reading, to offer their support through education in their child’s early development, and teach valuable skills to the parents and caregivers, that nurtures their children. This program gives impoverished families an opportunity to beat some dire odds, and utilizes an evidence-based curriculum that includes, GKK (Growing Great Kids), STEP-early childhood (Systematic Training for Effective Parenting), and Active Parenting Today. There are some additional perks for parents and caretakers to become involved like free childcare, safety items for the home, and a chance for the child to go to college if they stick with the
