Kirp for The New York Times gives the reader a different perspective, the stance against the CCSS. The article discusses more negativity than the previous. Kirp examines the four states that once adopted the CCSS and now have opted out, he then states that many Republican governors who initially backed the standards now refer to them as “shameless government overreach.” His findings suggest that too much testing can rob school buildings of joy and cause unnecessary stress. The article seems to lean with a bias towards supporting the educational institutes that do not favor the Common Core State
