However, I found the term “agnostic”, which defined exactly what I felt. Someone who is agnostic believes that the existence of a higher power cannot be proven or disproved. I don’t think that the possibility of the existence of God can be ruled out but, in my opinion, there just isn’t enough evidence for me to truly believe in a specific religion and I don’t think there ever will be.
I do know that if I was religious, I would be more content. The idea of having a guardian angel or God looking over you is a very reassuring thought. To know that, in times of sadness or crisis, there would be a higher power there for me to rely on and pray to in order to feel secure is definitely a comforting idea.
When I went to Bible Club as a child, I was told to respect everyone and accept people’s differences as that is what makes everyone unique.
