Peace, love, and harmony are the key components most appreciated by persons of this attribute. If these states of mind were ever to disappear, they may become anxious or distressed in their absence. People ruled by this understanding make decisions and think with their hearts and emotions, cherish compassion (The Myers and Briggs Foundation, 2015), and always account for the sensitivity of other’s over their own. They extract more emphasis on personal concerns and the people involved rather than objective principles and impersonal facts (The Myers and Briggs Foundation, 2015). When taking into consideration how cautious and how impassioned I am, it’s no surprise that the feeling trait popped up in my results. I have a knack for tending to the needs of others first, not vice-versa. If I have a guest over, I always make sure that any needs they have are met before I myself can sit down and relax. If they need some food, a drink, a pillow, or a blanket, I’ll make sure they have it before I take care of myself. Another example of my concern for others is when both a loved one and I are upset. It’s preferring a structured, decided lifestyle (The Myers and Briggs Foundation, 2015). People who lean more towards judging desire a planned and orderly way of life (The Myers and Briggs Foundation, 2015), rather than a spontaneous and un-expecting setting. Personally, I’m not uncomfortable with living an impulsive existence. However, I would rather live by an outlined, methodical system. For instance, I always put together a little To-Do list in my yellow notebook at the beginning of my day. As the hours wear on, I cross off each task I’ve completed. Ironically, list making is a trait that was listed under the description of judging. Making an account of the things I need to get done help me remember them later on. And, like the characteristics of a judging person, I put my work and responsibilities before downtime.
