Social media is a huge impact in why younger teenagers are more sexually driven. Shields (1993) writes in her article how media has impacted young teenagers. Magazine articles tend to write about numerous sexual pieces that are meant to be for adults. However, in her article Shields discusses how younger teenagers are reading these magazines more often and they are becoming frustrated because they “do not understand what an orgasm is.” (Shield,1993). In other words, these teenagers do not understand anything sexually that the magazine talks about. Since the child does not understand they decide to go figure out on their own what a kiss means.
