The one who really knew was Barry Lopez when he wrote “A Literature of Place”. I believe he had two understandings. The first one is that you should let a place take over you and for you, yourself, know where you are “Become vulnerable to a place. He shows how we can understand each other more, if we gave a bit more. Such as “Which was the name of the dog”(Twain 6) because even as something as little as this quote could make it easier to see the story because it fills a hole to see everything, so that we can imagine it. It makes sense that nothing is set in a plot and can be talked about outside of it. He is in his place and doesn’t feel isolated to talk only inside the story. We can also see how good a person is when they talk from their town. “Took out after that feller, but he never watched him” (Twain 20) when someone talked like they normally would, we feel more comfortable and are able to understand where they are coming from. What kind of technology they have. It shows the kind of people who would be needed in a bad situation to be able to make the best choice. He is one is not part of those people who dont just think about themselfs but everybody. We can see the hopefulness and well being in his
