Another suggestion to combat the challenges that Planned Parenthood faces as a geographically-dispersed organization is appointing highly skilled and experienced individuals as regional executives. This would still be consistent with the organization’s current geographic method but would involve one individual being responsible for providing guidance to several areas with similar laws and practices. Finally, a more radical suggestion would be to challenge the geographic structure and borders by increasing access to transportation and meetings of employees from different areas. This could include work exchanges/swaps, company-sponsored relocations or frequent conferences. While this would likely provide a high up-front cost, information-sharing about best practices is likely to increase operational efficiency and therefore bring in more revenue and/or cut costs.
