Few people eat lunch at home under controlled circumstances. We should be cutting back on carbs and red meats that are not good for individuals. We need to understand behaviour as well as biology; economics assume that people make rational decisions on how they feel and not thinking of long-term effects. Also everyone has individual preferences so choices will be different. Limited income is also a huge affect and you cannot have everything you want. New technology may make being obese less dangerous. When you look at health, incomes, the amount of leisure, amount of exercise, and the amount of food individuals eat weight are all interrelated.
