Many object the idea of traveling out of Earth’s atmosphere for religious beliefs that it is somehow doing more than a human should be allowed to do. Other object the idea for financial accounts, and some object the idea simply on the grounds that they find the travel a waste of time. Richard Feynman, physicist and Nobel Prize winner states, “Space travel has no significant break-throughs.” Another large objection to space travel is the difficulties to adapt to the atmosphere. To stay in outer space for a long-term period, would cause both bone and muscles loss due to the low gravity pressure, a suppression to the immune system and exposure to radiation. On the other hand, majority agree with the idea of space travel. Stephen Hawking says, “I don’t think the human race will survive the next thousand years, unless we spread into space.” Perhaps for the vitality of human survival, we must travel? Although I am in college for Engineering, my discipline in Engineering is focused on Mechatronics. I have no plan to space travel or to go into aeronautical engineering, but I do enjoy the idea of travelling. Never have I owned a telescope, and probably never will I. Among the stars there is the big dipper and little dipper, I could not find these if I tried or any other astrological connect the dots. So, why would I study into NASA and the idea of outer space travels, because if there has been anything I have learned throughout this semester in literally all of my classes, it is that we must learn History to keep it from repeating itself. Many critics say that there is nothing you can learn from History or that it is doomed to repeat itself. Personally, there is a choice, but it takes a lot of researching to be able to understand what needs to be altered so History does not repeat itself. I have walked through many steps of bouncing through topics, researching each one, and have at least eight pages of notes front and back compiled beside me. I organized it with outlines and my three sources. Each step of the way, I kept in mind we still have a chance to learn from history, it is not too late. Let us not repeat the high death tolls of our first New World exploration. No trail of tears should be written in our new text books. Can we stay educated for the sake of our
