Seven Perspectives
The seven theoretical perspectives help define the way people act, feel, and think. The seven perspectives of psychology are humanism, psychodynamic, social cognitive, cognitive, biopsychology, and evolutionary. Each perspective is different and focus on different things.
Behaviorism

This field of psychology has a relatively new field called cognitive neuroscience which includes the study of physical workings of 9the brain and the nervous system when engaged in memory, thinking, and other cognitive processes. (Ciccarelli & White, 2005.) Psychoanalytic main focus on sexual development and behaviorism’s focus on external forces in guiding personality development. Humanists held the view that people have free will, the freedom to choose their own destiny, and strive for self-actualization, the achievement of one’s full potential. (Ciccarelli & White, 2015.) The famous founders of this perspective were Abraham Maslow (1908-1970) and Carl Rogers (1902-1987). (Ciccarelli & White, 2015.) Humanism exists as a form of psychotherapy aim at self-understanding and self-improvement.
Psychodynamic Perspective This perspective of psychology focuses may still include the unconscious mind and its influence over conscious behavior and on early childhood experiences. (Ciccarelli & White, 2015) Freud’s theory is used by many of the psychologist that study psychodynamic perspective in therapy situations. Some psychologists that study the psychodynamic perspective today began to recommend that the link between neurobiology and psychodynamic concepts should be fully explored. These seven perspectives helped humans analyze thing that happen in our daily lives. If psychology didn’t have the seven perspectives the psychology field would not be as developed. The perspectives are full with the way a person thinks, understands, and processes different
