The Veldt Summary

Technology has made great advancements as a whole from several decades ago to the modern era. Within the past half century, several innovations have been made that raise the question, “Are these new inventions good, or evil?” The benefits and detriments of technology and new innovations have been addressed by literary works such as “The Veldt” by Ray Bradbury, and in the articles “Transgender Surgery Isn’t The Solution” by Paul McHugh and “The Transgender Con?” by Selwyn Duke.

The negative side of so much technology is presented in the piece in that, too much of a wonderful thing may not be healthy. The amount of technology in the children’s lives ultimately instigated a negative effect on the relationship with their parents. In the end, the relationship was completely severed as the children felt threatened by the removal of their technology; therefore, they slaughtered their parents (Bradbury).
In the past two years society has advanced more and more as the global community invents many new innovations to change different aspects of life.
