When Hermione is all alone in the girls bathroom Harry and Ron help and save her from the troll who terrorizes the school. After that incident they become really close. Before the first Quidditch match, Harry receives a broomstick from Professor McGonagall. The three friends finds Snape suspicious and they think he is the one who wants the package from Gringotts. During the game, Harry's broomstick acts weird and it seems to be hexed. Eventually Harry catches the snitch and team Gryffinndor wins but his friends blame Snape for putting him in danger. During the winter break, Harry stays at Hogwarts but all his friends expect Ron go home to be with their families. For Christmas, Harry anonymously receives an invisibility cloak that once belonged to his dad.
