Analysis Part:
Introduction
When reading the book Brave New World by Aldous Huxley Lenina is talking about how she is starting to get a bit bored. She starts talking to Bernard, and states, “he spends most of his time by himself – alone” (Huxley 45). In the story, referring to loneliness is like nothing to them because the society wants them to live in the community but, people like Bernard just don’t feel they belong. Huxley says deep relationships and connections with people are replaced with loneliness and shallow relationships. Lenina and the society are having a problem with keeping a deep relationship with each other. Lenina has been getting patted on the bottom by the Director and sleeping with other guys. People most likely know when Lenina is sleeping with a different guy because she will be talking to Fanny about those boys. One way that loneliness is shown to be increasing “It indicates that loneliness increases mortality risk by 26%.” ("Are We Lonelier Than Ever"). They are still finding a rise in the amount of lonely people in the society. We rely too much on technology and not on social interaction with people so that is why people are becoming lonelier.
The reason we are becoming lonelier is because the change in modern society are considered to be the cause. “We often live large distances away from family and friends and so then we grow in using the technology to be able to connect with those people instead of face to face interaction,” ("Are We Lonelier Than Ever"). This also means that if people are losing face to face interaction they are feeling less connected to others and they are losing the relationship we have with those people. Now that most of our jobs require the use of technology, it is going to keep dropping the interaction face to face with the people that we use to interact
