Bandura says there are four major sources of self efficacy these are mastery experiences, social modelling, social persuasion and psychological responses.
Children would get self efficacy from performing a task successfully this is what Bandura means when he says mastery experiences. However on the other hand being unable to perform a task correctly can undermine children 's sense of self efficacy. Social modelling is when a child observes someone similar to themselves succeed, this makes the child believe that they posses the capabilities to succeed as well. Brofenbrenner built the Ecological Systems Theory to explain how the external environment a child is brought up in can influence how the child will grow and develop. Brofenbrenner studied children in a variety of settings to attempt to understand individual development. This way he could get a holistic view of the child 's life and how they interact within certain settings and with certain characters. A child has many different ecosystems, each of these systems interact with and influence each other in regards to the child 's life.
