Being apart of a team has had an extremely positive influence on my life and my development as a person. I have learned to be an effective leader, work well under pressure, manage my time, and most importantly, be able to put the team before myself. My participation in football has benefited me more off the field than on it. Not only did athletics allow me to develop lifelong friendships, but I was able to step outside of my comfort zone and meet all kinds of new people. My time as an athlete will always be an invaluable experience for me because I gained memories that will last a lifetime. I have learned that I should not give up when a task seems too hard or undesirable. Athletics has taught me that in times like these, I need to try even harder to push myself to reach my goal. During my senior season, I suffered from a shoulder injury that forced me to miss a significant amount of playing time. However, I did not let this injury force me to miss game time. Instead, this is when my leadership abilities were exhibited the most as I became a mentor and helped coach my team from the sidelines. It is through this experience that I saw a different side to football and began to take on a different outlook on life. I intend to graduate from Bowling Green State University in May of 2021, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. Being the tough-minded, driven individual that I am, I intend to later pursue a Master’s degree in Business Administration. I am hoping that this path of education will allow me to pursue my dream of starting my own business. Aside from my educational studies, I plan to get involved in the various clubs and organizations offered by the university. I wish to meet and bond with new people to build strong relationships and connections that will last a
