Walt Disneyland Controversy

The maker of Disneyland once said, “Disneyland is a work of love. We didn’t go into Disneyland just with the idea of making money” (Disney). Walt Disney is the creator of Disneyland, and he saw his dream come to life when Disneyland was built. He had always dreamed of a theme park that was unlike any others where he could see his own characters that he created come to life. He wanted to bring joy and excitement to people. He mostly wanted to see people having fun and be filled with nothing but happiness while in his park. One article states, “One day Walt Disney had a vision. It was a vision of a place where children and parents could have fun together. The more Walt dreamed of a ‘magical park,’ the more imaginative and elaborate it became” (“Disneyland’s History”). Walt Disney just wanted to build an extraordinary place where people could escape from the real world for a day and be in a magical place where anything is possible. He wanted people to feel like they could have fun and let go of their problems for a day while in Disneyland. Another article says that Walt Disney once explained, “I felt that there should be something built where the parents and the children could have fun together” (“Disneyland History”). Walt Disney mainly cared about families having fun together and enjoying themselves. He was not overly concerned about how much money he could make; he wanted people to be happy at Disneyland most of all. He hoped that people would love his park and have a lot of fun there. Therefore, Walt Disney had good intentions and reasons for building Disneyland because he wanted people to have a great time more than anything
