Water Contamination In The United States

The United States relies heavily on groundwater as a source for drinking. As a result of contaminated ground water supply, citizens are at times forced to look elsewhere. As this can get expensive, hydrologists look for various alternatives. About 50% of the United States drinking water comes from groundwater wells. Contamination in such wells has become a major problem for those who do not have much of a choice to where they get their water supply. Hydrologists now have the tools to locate contamination, but as this is costly. Extracting contaminants from groundwater is important, but taking the necessary precautions and making sure you are not the cause is vital as well.
