Not even our country’s set of laws are morally correct or pertain to all aspects of a positive socio-moral for equality, resolution, and peace. If corruption is at the base of power as singular leader or party their power may have influence over law and can be negative for other people. No matter how fair law may be powerful economic and political forces hope to capture bias in favor of themselves. We see this in today’s society, powerful political and economic figures escape consequences or win cases because they have more money for the powerful lawyer rather than the average citizen.
Other weaknesses in laws are loopholes from a law that is not fully defined. Loopholes can influence the outcome of disputes and legal justice may be altered. An example of this is a tax law. Large Ceo’s and business owners can evade paying the adequate tax amount by using loopholes, and different interpretations of the law. But, this again brings the beauty of the U.S. legal system and its malleability.
When viewing the pros and cons of the U.S. legal system based just on the laws itself one could argue that it is not perfection of what laws should be. But, the United States is perhaps the most successful, peaceful, prosperous country in the world. I believe this is to be true because our laws may not be perfect, but they work for our society.
