Most literary works are shaped primarily upon the personal experiences of the author and are written as a result of important insights that the author deems important to share. Throughout various time periods in this nation’s history, there have been many social variations that have altered the values of this country. I decided to dress up as Wendy Davis, a Democratic Politician, because Texas needs more women like her. I learned that in 2013 she was fighting for women’s right as she stood up for 13 hours straight, which explains why she was wearing running shoes. It was shocking how she was not allowed to have any bathroom breaks, and still manage to speak for so many hours. Perhaps, even bladders are bigger in Texas. That is one tough women, to be willing to give women a voice so that men do not tell young girls what they are supposed to do with their…

Charles Manson was a man who knew how to persuade people to do his bidding for him, and get what he wanted. Charles Manson became a guru after getting out of jail in the latter part of the 1960s, and would tell his followers that they were the reincarnation of the original Christians and that the establishment was playing the part of the Romans. While he did not outright say so, he told these people that he was Christ and had visions of being crucified. The female followers were all impressionable young women who came from middle class families whose parents had divorced. They did whatever he asked them, without question; it helped that they were taking hallucinogenic drugs at the time he was saying all of this.…

Over this semester I think one of the most eye opening things we talked about was how women were uneducated but were the primary educators. This is crazy for me to think about, because they were expected to teach the children about everything that was going on. This also shows how much education has evolved since then. I think that it is our responsibility as teachers to the students to teach them about the issues, this can mean using other sources besides the textbook to teach the students. There are certain chunks of our history as a country that is left out in many textbooks, they try to make it seem like they are less terrible that how they really are.…
