Long Term Effects Of Global Warming Essay

Improved Essays
Global warming has been around for a long time and in the most recent time it has become a little problem that can turn into a serious problem. We need to address global warming and the problems now to ensure the future. Also global warming is just going to keep getting worse and worse if we don 't take the Appropriate steps now. Global warming is not a joke nor a myth it is a serious problem that needs to be discussed.
Global warming is affecting us by making our climate Change significantly. Global warming happens to make the world a little warmer and it has thrown off our climates and our seasons. Our Climate temperatures tend to increase because of greenhouse gases. Greenhouse gas trap heat and make the world warmer and a large amount

Ben Bova himself writes, “Migrating Animals head north earlier because of spring temperatures are arriving weeks earlier in the year. Plants blossom weeks earlier too. And plants and animals species are expanding their habits northward because of generally warmer temperatures”.(Bova 410) Bova is saying here is that global warming changing the temperatures has caused animals to leave their habitats sooner and plants to to blossom sooner than ever. One long term effect is glaciers, glaciers are are slowly melting away. If global warming keeps warming the glaciers, soon there will be no glaciers in the future causing the sea level to rise. Another long term affect is polar bears are drowning. polar bears are drowning because they have to swim further to get to a floating piece of ice. The long term effects of this means the possibility of extinction for polar bears. Lastly, Global warm affects our health, heat waves can cause heat strokes and air pollution can cause allergies and asthma. The Natural Resources Defense Council states, ”rise in average temperature will have far-reaching effects on the earth 's climate patterns and on all living things. Many of these changes have already begun”(NRDC). Furthermore, as global warming continues earth will lose some of its most important and beautiful things. The future of global warm is very …show more content…
If changes don 't occur human activity affecting global warm, human activity will make it from bad to worse. David J. Rothkopf states “A shift away from dirty old fuels is the only path toward reducing several of the greatest security threats the planet faces, but we must carefully and avoid letting our optimism run away with us”(Rothkopf 419). To take case in point, we need to ditch fossil fuels and move to something cleaner. But we can 't let our will to be open minded about changing our ways for global warming. A few things that can reduce the human activity cause of global warming are driving less. driving less means few emissions coming out of your vehicle, also driving less saves money on gas. try taking public transportation, ride a bike or even carpool. Another thing you can do to reduce global warming is plain and simple, plant a few trees. Trees take carbon dioxide out of the atmosphere and put oxygen in the atmosphere. Carbon dioxide is a greenhouse gas mainly released from human activity. More trees means less carbon dioxide which equals a decrease in global warming produced by humans. Equally important, the three R’s, Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. yes it is true recycling does in fact save the world and reduce global warming. Recycling reduce greenhouse gases and emission from places like landfills. lastly, educate friends, family and people

In addition to Global Warming’s impact on water, it also impacts the environment, harming ice and bodies of water, plants, and animals. Firstly, Global Warming leads to a shrinkage of glaciers and causes ice on rivers and lakes to break earlier. This decrease in ice also accelerates the rising of sea levels (NASA, The Consequences of Climate Change). Additionally, Global Warming impacts plants, as they are no longer able to survive in certain climates and locations, and trees are flowering earlier. Finally, as a result of Global Warming, animals can no longer live in certain places because places may no longer fulfill their needs (NASA, The Consequences of Climate Change).…

Effects of Global Warming It is no doubt that The Earth’s atmosphere is getting warmer, but its consequences have remained an issue of great uncertainty and debate. Researchers predict dramatic and serious problems for generations in the future. For instance, the phenomenon is expected to affect climate patterns—rising temperatures causing heat waves, wild fires and droughts and warmer oceans creating more frequent and stronger hurricanes. Ice caps and glaciers would also melt causing sea levels to rise.…

In the great barrier reef, the warming temperatures are heating up coral, and as a result fish are dying off and being forced to leave their habitats to cooler water. Climate change is classified when regional temperatures rise 2 degrees Fahrenheit. This might not seem like much, but it’s a noticeable difference. Consequently, this two degree change could be life or death in some places such as Antarctica, where the ice is melting at such a rate that native animals are going extinct. Climate change is the most probable thing about global warming.…

Ben Bova claims that the earth becomes global warming being real, but we cannot feel an evident effect. About the twentieth century, scientists found that global warming made the temperature change higher and higher as time goes on.…

Global warming has many effects on the ocean. It affects much of the ocean 's ecosystems and living organisms. The increase in the earth 's temperature has led to coral bleaching which results in shrinking, starvation, and death of corals that support thousands of species that live on coral reefs. It has also resulted in the migration of many fish species. Many have migrated toward the poles as the ice melts as more food and shelter becomes available which could be a problem as they could be a food source for another…

Global warming is being caused by humans and something should be done about it. The reason global warming is so prevalent is because people do not know they are hurting the environment and some people do not believe it is real. There will be consequences to everyone if nothing is done about it. Around the world, less than half the people in the UK (43 percent), Germany (49 percent), and Norway (34 percent) believe that global warming is caused by civilization (Le Page).…

Climate change is ruining the ecosystems of millions of creatures around the world, and while some humans do not see it, it is ruining theirs too. According to “It’s Getting Hot in Here” by Bridget Heos, climate change currently contributes to about 140,000 premature human deaths (Heos). These people are dying due to low air purity, dirty water sources, and poor food quality (Heos). All of these effects are direct examples of what climate change is doing to the…
