She is is very nervous at first and has no idea what to write about. Miss Skeeter often is curious of writing her first published novel, “I wonder if I’ll ever write anything worth anything at all (104)”. Finally, Miss Skeeter comes up the idea to write a collection of stories of black maids’ experiences working in white households when she hears her maid of her household working around the house. “But the idea won’t go away (104)”. She knows it is probably not the greatest idea in the world, “But the idea won’t go away (104)” as she feels it can go further. By completing this sacrifice, Miss Skeeter’s values and beliefs she believes in can be determined as she cares about others and she is not like other white woman living in Jackson.
