Introduction
One of the biggest issues that can be found in a business is the ability to communicate. Communication comes easy to some and harder for others. Without proper communication your business will not succeed. Some of the issues that can and will most likely occur without communication are: an issue amongst employees, work is done incorrectly, loss of authority within managers. These are only a few; the list could continue and would vary depending on the environment and the type of communication. At my work place communication isn 't just vital within in the company but it is also vital with our suppliers.

There are two assets that management uses when communicating, those two are leadership and power. No whether the manager uses the tools in a positive way will depend on the manager’s personality and morals. Managers with leadership will focus their influence downward, which it will take excellent communication skills to insure that it is positive influence. Managers that use power to gain lateral and upward influence, to me, will have good communication skills, but will be using them in the wrong manner (Robbins, Chapter 14). The bible says: "Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ." The book gives an example those employees who perceive politics as a threat will have a defensive reaction (Robbins, Chapter 14). A way to avoid this uncomfortable situation is by being able to communicate with each other and to politely tell one another what we like and do not like discussing. A real-life example of how important communicating can be is being able to discuss your health, studies have been done to prove that if you have good communication skills you could potentially have a healthier life; "Thus, communication could lead to better physical health if conversation between clinician and patient helped to identify the correct diagnosis and appropriate treatment plan, led to following through with treatment or self-care, and/or affected patients’ health beliefs." (Street, Part 3, Section 1, para 1). Therefore, not only is important to be able communicate with doctors, but it is also important to be able to communicate within the workforce.
