In the short story “The Cask of Amontillado” by Edgar Allan Poe the main idea is the narrator (Montresor) wants revenge on his friend Fortunato. Throughout the story Montresor plans his revenge in various steps. The first one is Montresor finds out that that Fortunato still trust him so he evaluates on that with Step 2. This is, Montresor gets Fortunato drunk, since Fortunato is a wine taster and he trust Montresor, he has all the wine Montresor gives him. Step 3 was when Montresor takes Fortunato to his house since ‘’there were no attendants at home’’. Then Step 4 had Montresor lead Fortunato down to the catacombs under his house pretending to get the good wine. Next Step 5 was when they walked far enough to a secluded spot that’s dark enough
