In the short of “The Myth of Prometheus” by an unknown author, Prometheus is the Archetypal Hero of the myth. He shows these characteristics by being the protagonist, answering the challenge, and sacrificing himself. Prometheus first shows he is a hero by being the protagonist of the myth when he tricks Zeus into taking the pile of offerings that is filled with fat and bone, instead of the better pile. This shows Prometheus as the protagonist because he tricks Zeus to advocate the cause of man. When Prometheus advocates for cause of humans, he shows himself to be the protagonist, which is a characteristic of an Archetypal Hero. Another way Prometheus is revealed to be the hero is that he answers the challenge by beginning the quest to populate
