Macbeth has a thought that the only way to become king is to kill the king, but he tries hard to reject this thought by telling himself to just let fate run its course and if fate wants him to be king then it will happen. “If chance will have me king, why, chance may crown me Without my stir.” (Act I Scene 3). Lady Macbeth believed that since two of the witches prophecies had already came true, that the other must.
