Why Are We Naturally Good

Decent Essays
Skylar Serbantez (good).

Every human is different in many of ways, but being evil and good are two different things. I believe that humans are naturally born to be good in every way. People around the world have a different ways of being good, and how they interact around others. Based on society today is how I believe people are naturally good. People are born innocent in this world today, but what makes them who they are today is human nature and society.
However god did not put people on this earth to be evil. In whatever conditions that people were born in is how they have sustained to live that way to be good. Evolution has taught us to be the people that we did not expect to be who we are today. Without evolution today

In an interview, Golding stated, “Lord of the Flies was simply what it seemed sensible for me to write after the war, when everybody was thanking God they weren’t Nazis. Humanity can simply be seen in two sides, good and evil. Every person, no matter how kind-hearted they may be, have an evil side to them. A woman who dedicates her life to charity be seem good on the outside, but the way she treats others could be cruel or evil. Similarly, a murderer could be killing others, which is evil, because he is killing others who are harmful to society. Evil manifests in every person to a degree.…

When you are posed with the question if human beings are inherently good or bad, you often find yourself floundered to find an answer. It is a fundamental question with no definite answer, only your conception of situations and human beings. People often look for the bad in the world, they point out the negative things instead of the positive because that’s what people want to hear about. The positive things are overlooked, which concludes with people believing that humans are inherently bad. Unfortunately, they do not recognize the many positive actions of others.…

It seems that it is the mind and intelligence, the ability of a human to learn to be proper, that separates Humanity from the Animal Kingdom. It is interesting to think that humans wish that they were inherently good, which is why when most would answer the question if they believe they are good or evil inherently, they would likely suggest that they are good. however, it does not seem to be a bad thing to be inherently evil. It seems to be that of something that is righteous that Society has been able to overcome the barbaric…

J.D. Stroube wrote in Caged by Damnation that, “Life is filled with unanswered questions, but it is the courage to seek those answers that continues to give meaning to life. You can spend your life wallowing in despair, wondering why you were the one who was led towards the road strewn with pain, or you can be grateful that you are strong enough to survive it.” One of the unanswered questions I have had to contemplate these past nine weeks is, “Are humans inherently good or bad?” To answer this question many others come about like, “Is morality due to the influence of society or was society only created as a guideline to our morality.” Morals are a person's standards of behavior or beliefs concerning what is and is not acceptable for them…

Human Nature Are humans born good or evil? This is a question that there are many different answers to. Confucians, the founder of Confucianism, the official state religion of China for nearly two thousand years, had his own answer to this question, but it provided a somewhat vague explanation. Since his answer was very vague and indirect, Confucians were split on the question of human nature. Some like Mencius believed that humans are born good, and with the proper training, can become perfect.…

According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, civilization is “the condition that exists when people have developed effective ways of organizing a society and care about art, science, etc”. Despite the positive cognition that comes with civilization, Sigmund Freud, a neurologist and initiator of the concept of psychoanalysis, acquainted civilization as being something inadequate. According to Freud, civilization enables the human race to feel genuine happiness by outlawing actions that come instinctively by our individual psyche. Sigmund Freud believes that the human race was born inherently savage. He believes that each individual has inborn instincts that make you barbaric.…

My thoughts on human nature can best be summed up by the character Sirius Black in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix: “We’ve all got both light and dark inside us. What matters is the part we choose to act on, that’s who we really are.” Our ability to critically think about our behavior and make choices is what makes us human and sets us apart from our hominid ancestors. In fact, as far as other species are concerned, there is no concept of “good” and “evil”; there is predator and prey, threatening and safe, dominant and submissive. Morality is not a factor at play in the animal kingdom.…

Each individual has a different understanding of what the word “bad” or “evil” mean. If one person believes that stealing is bad, another person might believe that stealing is a good thing if it serves the greater good, for example, Robin Hood. The words “bad” and “good” are subjective and can vary in people’s views. Yet, by looking at the world today, it is difficult to say that humans are naturally good. However, when a child is brought into this world, one tends to associate them with purity and innocence.…
