William Shakespeare's, “Romeo and Juliet”, the concept of fate is a key asset in the development of the plot. Through the book fate is heavily talked about and implied by the main characters. In the story, the rules of society set the outcome of fate, like the rules of marriage. Decisions and actions that were made by the characters in the story impact the pathway that fate had already set, like the plan for Juliet's escape. The ending of the play was an outcome of people believing in fate so heavily it actually came true. Fate had it that romeo and juliet were both going to be together. However, romeo thought that fate was separating the two by death, making this quote,“Then I defy you stars”/(5.l.24).
This lead him to kill himself. Fate also had a lot to do with with two of the servants being there, which lead Paris’ page to call the king's men coming to the tomb. Which leads me to the fact that fate brought both of the families together at the end of the play. All of the decisions brought together both of the families, to end the feud, all of this fueled by fate.
