Wildfires may bring in more revenue, however, wildfires can also“...lead to instability in local labor markets by amplifying seasonal variation in employment over the subsequent year.” (The Economic Impacts of Large Wildfires). Wildfires can’t continue forever near that WUI community; there will be a time when the fire goes out. Due to the fact that wildfires can’t always be burning around the community means the increased revenue for the community and people is unpredictable and unstable which leads to an unstable market. However it is a different story for individuals than it is in their communities because “Human Health can be severely affected by wildfires” (Health Impacts of Wildfires). Common injuries from wildfires include “Respiratory morbidity predominates, but cardiovascular, ophthalmic and psychiatric problems can also result. In addition severe burns resulting from direct contact with the fire require care in special units and carry a risk of multi – organ complications” (Health Impacts of Wildfires). These injuries are not only life threatening but take a toll on that individual and their families lives. Many, like the man pictured to the side, face high medical bills, lost of family, lost of a home, lost of life as they knew it. Many in WUI areas lose everything, which the image of the burn down house serves to tell how one family in a WUI area lost their entire home due to a wildfire. (INSERT PICTURES
