The data collected for the wind speed had significant difference. We can conclude that based off the data for the temperature and wind, the amount of birds that were located within a specific area was effected. After, examining the data for the species of birds found, the results have proven that the null hypotheses has been rejected based off the species representation. The initial hypothesis was that there would be more birds located in the Winthrop lake area, than in the golf course area. This hypothesis was formed based of prior knowledge to both locations: temperature, wind speed, and other factors. When performing this experiment we concluded that species diversity was greater in the golf course area and species abundance was greater in the lake area. It is common experience that more species of birds breed in a mixed wood than in a field of comparable size (cite on bird). This is true because of the niches and habits of the birds found within this area. Most of the birds had nest and food sources in this area. Since the golf course area has been established longer than the Winthrop lake area, it can be concluded that these birds have prior habits formed. Restored wetlands are colonized by many wetland bird species within few years, although some species are less likely to occur initially in these restored wetlands than in natural, unaltered wetlands (cite local). Based off this knowledge, since the Lake area is manmade the amount of species diversity can affect its abundance. Making the amount of birds in this area limited, because the habits and niches are not
