What is sulphation?

What is it caused by?
The formation of permanent lead sulphate on the plates.
Increase in internal resistance, over heating, buckling of the plates.
Continuous undercharging.
What is buckling?
Twisting and bending of the plates.
Internal shorting.
Excessive charge and discharge currents.
What is sedimentation?
Collection of discarded active material from the plates at the bottom of the cell.
Causes shorting of the plates and a complete loss of capacity.
