Where is Loose/Areolar connective tissue found and what is its structure?
First layer under the dermis, deep to the epithelial of hollow visceral organs. It is made of collagen and elastic proteins in a fluid matrix. It contains blood vessels, mast cells, macrophages and fibroblasts.
Where is Adipose connective tissue found and what is it made of?
In fat stores. It is made of collagen and reticular proteins in fluid matrix. It contains many fat cells.
Where is dense regular connective tissue found?
Ligaments and Tendons
Where is dense irregular Connective tissue found and what is its structure?
Surrounding joints, deep to the loose connective tissue behind the dermis and surrounding visceral organs and muscle. It is made of densely packed collagen proteins and fibroblasts.
What is the superficial fascia?
A layer of loose/areolar connective tissue found deep to the epithelial cells of the dermis.
What is the deep fascia?
A layer of dense irregular Connective tissue found deep to the superficial fascia which is itself deep to the epithelial cells of the dermis.
Where are simple squamous epithelial cells found and what is their purpose?
Lining blood and lymphatic vessels, the heart, body cavities, air cells and the glomeruli of the urinary tract. They are thin and plate-like allowing diffusion.
