    A mix of religion and politics is what hardens Hamas as it allows them to win the hearts of the Palestinian people. Since Hamas governs by the doctrine of Islam and are helping to end Israeli occupation it comes as no surprise that the population highly approves of them despite their acts of violence and crimes. Hamas uses religion to push political messages. Just looking at Article 6 of their Covenant, explains exactly how they mix religion and politics. Furthermore, the preamble clearly identifies the political side of Hamas. In fact, Hamas got the easiest and most reasonable way of mixing religion and politics.
