in the big house by himself. Even more surprising, my dad actually agreed to it. So when my mom moved out of Jim’s house, my dad moved in. I didn’t even have to switch bedrooms. This was probably the weirdest year of my entire life. By itself, a girl living in a house with only men is more difficult. They butted heads a lot since they had completely different styles for “raising” me. On top of it all, I lived with my mom half of the time too, so I still had to go through getting used to another house. It would have been easy to slip into a dark place, but every time I explained this situation to someone and they’re first question for me was, “Wait, so is your dad… gay?” I just had to laugh.
