manner that makes them appealing (or appalling) to the readers. His greatest success in this area is Boxer, with his mottoes, "Napoleon is always right" and "I will work harder". On the symbolic level, Boxer represents the Russian workers who trusted Stalin and made enormous sacrifices to ensure the success of the October Revolution. In the book he is one of the most sympathetically drawn characters whose eventual fate, being sent to the knacker's yard, is both shocking and moving. The character of Napoleon is also intriguing for the reader. His early involvement in the rebellion gives him status among the animals but he quickly becomes withdrawn and operates through intermediaries. His gradual corruption, from stealing the milk just after the Battle of the Cowshed, through to his final appearance cheating at cards, forms a compelling background to the animals' struggles. His various sins are documented and underlined by the changes carried out to the Seven Commandments by Squealer until eventually the whole charade is overthrown by the cruelly cynical…

In my opinion, I think that immigration should be legal. I also think that it should be done the right way. It may be a lot of work to fill out papers and to come at the right time, but I think that this would help not only people when they get over here, but it would also help the U.S. keep track of everyone who's living here. As a child, having rules to follow wasn’t unheard of with my family. There was always a way to behavior with friends/family, at school, at home and out in the street. Often I found myself getting into trouble because I didn 't listen and also the fact that I always found some kind of way to slipping out of having to doing something that I knew I was supposed to do. But this difference does not mean that one way is right and the other one is wrong. Quite to the contrary, both O’Brien and Bowker can learn from each other and deal with Kiowa’s death in an even better way. “The Man I Killed” and “Ambush” both concern O’Brien’s feelings of guilt over killing an enemy combatant. Guilt is often associated with death. When a friend or loved one dies, the people left behind often feel that they could have rendered more assistance during the person’s life. These…

says “’I can ‘member Grandma Dee without the quilts’” (par. 74) showing that she will always remember the times they had together. Mama is also seen as a character of symbolic importance because of her ways of seeing situations throughout the story. She talks about a dream she had, going on a game show and re-uniting with her daughter when she herself weighs one hundred pounds lighter. Farrell reminds us, “It is important to remember, thought, that this Johnny Carson daydream is Mama’s…

“Go north of St. Helens, no turns, just follow the satin flowers’ I read the remaining guidelines and proceeded as I made my way outside the discarded forest. The time was specifically 10:45, you could tell by the decreasing temperature that it was late, I glanced some more over the crinkled piece of paper ‘there will be an unoccupied vehicle approximately 300 meters from the north entrance from where you exited” I scanned around until my eyes fell upon a black tented 1963 Chevrolet Corvette…

What are your programs and how are they responsive to that? How seriously do you want to take those concerns? How might we direct those conversations in productive ways, reflecting on those aspects of their criticisms that…
