Through the entire journey to destroy the ring Aragorn is never tempted to take the ring. He even has a chance when Frodo offers it to him, but he declines. That act displays incredibly strong morals. Aragorn 's counterpart in The Hobbit would be Thorin. Thorin was the leader of the company that infiltrated the lost Kingdom under the Mountain.
