You should ask yourself are my sentences clear and concise? Do they use parallel structure for similar ideas? Are they varied? And do they contain strong active verbs. In this stage you should also focus on your word choice. There are four types of word choice you should follow within your essay. The tone and level of your diction. How are you sounding to your readers? Your word connotations, are you using concrete and specific language in your writing? Most importantly knowing how and when to use figures of speech. Within this course I have learned a lot about writing and how to effectively plan out my writing path. The three most helpful elements that I gained from this course would be learning how to develop and support my thesis. As an English student and coming into this course I have always struggled with creating an effective thesis statement. This unit has taught be how to break apart my ideas through organization has helped me into creating a strong thesis. This course taught me how to ask myself those tricky questions that I stumbled upon throughout my writing and gave me a guideline to help get me back on the right
