1) Act of Toleration: Lord Baltimore granted freedom of religion to Christians of different branches. But, most of the people living in the colonies were Protestant and despised the Catholics wanting to convert theme to their own faith. The Catholics supported the Act of Toleration which was passed in 1649 in Maryland and allowed for them to practice their religion freely. The only drawback was that it only tolerated all types of Christianity so people of other faiths like Judaism and Atheism were killed. (34)

The Columbian Exchange involved the bringing of gold, silver, and corn to Europe and horses, sugar, and diseases from the Old World to the New World. The trading of all of these goods caused the landscape of the New World to change as they cultivated new crops like rice and wheat as well as killed much of the Native American population from European diseases like smallpox. However, this process mainly impacted the Indians as they were wiped out and their culture was replaced with European traditions. …show more content…
This institution was formed and allowed for a wider variety of people to explore and claim land in the New World by financing expeditions and allowing investors to gain land. (28)
16) King Philip’s War: As the population of English settlers began to increase in New England, tensions between Indians and the colonists increased. The Indians desired to drive the settlers away from their land by uniting with all of the tribes in the area. In 1675, Metacom, referred to as King Philip by the colonists, assaulted the English villages which resulted in the destruction of over fifty towns. In retaliation, the colonists killed Metacom and his family as well as other Indians. King Philip’s War did however slow down westward expansion by the colonists. (52)
17) Luther, Martin: This religious leader questioned the teachings of the Pope and priests of the Catholic Church. He initiated the Protestant Reformation in which he claimed that the Bible was the sole source of God’s word. This movement inspired many Europeans to migrate to the New World to seek religious freedom.
