Trait theory relates leadership with qualities that people are born with, this speaks to exceptional, outstanding and self-confident people. This theory speaks to an individual’s personality and their ability to influence, inspire and impact others. Skills approach involves the leader’s knowledge and ability, as stated by Katz (1955) three skills are a necessity for this type of leader. These are technical, human and conceptual, thus this type of leader had to be technically competent in the required area.
