The all teachers consult with more experienced specialists to gain knowledge and be able to manage the situations, and that adds positively to their experiences. The teachers Genevieve DeBose and Nate Monley experience hard time while dealing with students that are disruptive to the other students. They seek ways to overcome the difficult situations and try to discipline their students by punishment such as time out, writing the child’s name on the board or writing word several times, but it does not work because such a discipline is not intended to build self- control and it is done not for the students but to the students. The things like introducing herself through using drawings and her discipline type set up the tone in the class. On the family meeting in front of Marvin through labeling him as angry and through reminding him that she does not accept him to be angry in her class, she gives the child a message that the important thing here is not the subject of his anger or he but the fact that she doesn’t want problems in her class. The teacher should be very careful with labeling the children as angry because they can start feeling and believing in that label. In my opinion, the best way to deal with the problem is to speak with the family separately and to decide if the child needs a help from a specialist. Actually, at the end she finds way to reach him through going with him to his church. By providing the children with cameras for an activity where they share pictures of their special moments and attributes, the teacher helps the children to build self-confidence and self-esteem, and that is a positive result. I also appreciate the effort of Juan Gonzalez’s teacher who visits his home and shares his spare time with him and his father, and again that result positively.
