The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists set these guidelines for GDM screenings. Pregnant women are screened for gestational diabetes at 24 to 28 weeks of pregnancy. Some women who have a history of GDM and should have lifelong screenings. They should be tested every three years for non-gestational diabetes mellitus.
