This essay presents the importance of leadership and management in the field of health care, mainly to support the statement quoted above. As well as, my essay will reflect the leadership style I had been in my nursing career and management theories in accordance with the healthcare sector. It will help me to figure out what could have been improved under prior leadership or current practice in health sector.
I believe leadership is about changing status quo. The revolution happens either people does not satisfied with current status or have clear vision for future. Leadership is about setting clear vision for the future by persuading people to make them believe on what leader believes to make the difference in their life.

French Jr and Bertram Raven (1959) have indentified six key power bases that arise in groups and organizations. Leaders potentially differ from mangers in regards to the type of power they may yield. Managers have position power where as leaders have the opportunity to influence others through the referent, expert and informational power. This is called personal power. I found, sometime newly nurses have more expert power than leaders but, leader has ability to recognize and influence them to get organization goal.
