Judaism is said to have been formed in 2000 BCE, one of the oldest religions in the world. The Jewish calendar goes back over 5000 years.
Location
Judaism originated in eastern Canaan (now Israel and Palestinian territories). The religion can now be found mainly everywhere, the Jewish population thriving most in Israel, Russia, and the United States.
Founder
The patriarch Abraham, who lived around 2000 BCE, is believed to be the "father of Judaism" after receiving his promise from God.
Holy People/Days
One of the major holidays in this religion is the High Holy Days, a period of repentance and reflection, beginning with the Jewish New Year (Rosh Hashanah) and ten days later ending on the Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur).
