The WMI is comprised of two subtests, Digit Span and Picture Span, Kurtis did not comprehend the directions on the Digit Span subtest, even with repeated attempts to explain the directions. Therefore, his composite score is not valid. This observation supports Kurtis’ teacher concerns concerning Kurtis’ need for repeated directions and struggle with retention of material learned in the classroom. In the classroom, he may benefit from repetition of directions and verbal information in order to accurately process and understand the work
