Although deemed more important than others, the skills approached include three major concepts to determine the skills approach of a leader: the technical aspect, human aspect and the conceptual aspect (Northouse, 2013). The skills approach is mainly used to determine the effectiveness of performance, and how one of three areas are used as the leaders area of strength and depending on the scoring will add the leader with understanding the area in which he or she needs growth.
A skills self-inventory questionnaire is used to measure and/or give a sense of one’s leadership competency. As shared during the video both traits and skills are a part of the leadership process.
